Okay so anyone who follows me on Instagram will already know that I have been loving these trainers recently. They are such a VIBE. I picked them up from Zara (shock, can you tell Zara is my favourite shop by any chance?!) about a month ago after looking for a pair similar to these for ages. When I took them to the till and the sales assistant told me they were in the sale for just £12.99, I honestly nearly fainted…
These kind of trainers are definitely not my usual choice of trainers, but after seeing them all over my Instagram feed and in every shop on the high street, I thought I’d step outside of my comfort zone and finally get a pair. They’re chunky, cool and so comfortable.
Although I wasn’t sure about the whole ‘dad trainer’ trend at first, I’m now totally digging it. They’re the perfect trainer that give off a retro vibe whilst also making a statement. With 90’s fashion returning season after season, I just know this trend will be around for a while, so I’ll definitely get my wear out of them – which is obviously a complete bonus!
Chunky trainers look great with flared trousers and skinny jeans, but I can’t wait to wear mine in the summer with a pair of denim shorts or even a cute dress… In my opinion, they just take your outfit up a notch and they make your older pieces of clothing feel a lot more current too – win, win right?!
I mean, seriously, who would have thought that we’d now be rocking an item that a couple of decades ago would be solely prime dad territory… I’m completely here for it but I guess its a love/hate kinda trend. All I’m going to say though, is that if you’re unsure now and you end up buying a pair, you definitely won’t regret it!
