Satin is definitely one of those things that I just can’t get enough of… I love how it adds a sense of relaxed elegance to literally any outfit, and the fact that it has become more than just a seasonal trend now, and has transformed into an ultimate wardrobe staple, is just a dream come true!
I bought this ASOS number last summer as I instantly fell in love with it when I saw it online. As I have mentioned before, I’m not really a massive online shopper, as I seem to order everything in the wrong size, and never learn from my mistakes. However if I’m honest with you, when I saw this gorgeous top, I didn’t actually care if it wasn’t going to fit me… I just wanted my hands on it. Luckily I hit the jackpot with this one though, and saved myself yet another trip back to the Post Office!
In true blogger style, when my parcel came, I obviously wanted to share my excitement with all my friends and followers on Instagram. I immediately uploaded a story showing off this beaut satin top, and it seemed like everyone loved it just as much as me… although, I don’t know if that’s actually possible!
I absolutely love the terracotta colour of this top in broad daylight, but once the golden hour arrives, it looks even more stunning. The halter-neck and open back style gives it more of a dressed up vibe, and makes it the perfect top for a fancy evening meal in the summer. One of my favourite things about this top is the tie detail around the middle; not only does it compliment the peplum shape of this satin number, but the bow makes it look more feminine and classy, which if you know me, is right up my street.
I paired this top with my high waisted white jeans from M&S… yes, the M&S your mum loves and shops at! Lol, I know I sound about 50 years old, but seriously I can’t recommend these jeans enough as they fit like a glove and come in at such a good price. I decided to scrape my hair back into a low pony for this look, as I think this really compliments the neckline of the top, and it ensured that none of the gorgeous detail was covered up by my hair. This is definitely my go to hairstyle when I want to look sophisticated, chic and when I don’t want to go OTT with my outfit…
I kept my make up quite neutral for this look but I definitely didn’t hold back on the bronzer, as I knew this top would look even better with a tan – but I mean, that goes without saying, right? I’m struggling to think of an outfit that doesn’t…
To complete this look, I added some staple white heels and a nude clutch bag to keep things simple, as well as a pair of my fave statement earrings from Accessorize. I didn’t want to go overboard with the accessories as I wanted to let the top do all the talking, however, I do think that these accessories helped to bring the look together and overall, this is definitely one of my fave outfits I have ever worn…
